On Monday, November 2, 2015, at 1:56pm, the fire department was dispatched for a single vehicle accident at the 2200 block of Delhart Road in the Baywood area. A tractor trailer had overturned losing its load of sawdust. Extrication was not required, however, fire department personnel used the sawdust to clean up the resulting hazmat spill. Galax/Grayson EMS and Grayson County Sheriff’s Department assisted at the scene. Virginia State Police investigated the accident. The fire department remained on scene approximately 45 minutes.
