On Monday, April 27, 2015, at 2:26pm, Galax Fire was dispatched to assist Surry County Station 72 (Skull Camp) with a vehicle fire near Snow Bird curve on Route 89. A Jeep and a small camper were destroyed by the fire. The vehicle fire caused near-by brush to ignite. Galax units cleared the scene before 4pm.
