Wednesday morning, February 4, 2015, just before 7:30am, Galax Fire was dispatched to a two vehicle accident on Route 58 in front of Bojangle’s (965 East Stuart Drive). An east bound 2004 Ford Taurus was struck in the driver’s side by a west bound 2003 Ford pickup attempting to turn into Bojangle’s. A 48 year old Independence man was extricated from the Taurus by firefighters. He was transported by Galax Grayson EMS to Twin County Regional Hospital. The driver of the pickup, a 67 year old Woodlawn man, was not injured. He was charged with failure to yield the right of way per Galax Police Captain Cox.
