On Wednesday, December 5, 2012, at 5:17pm, the department was dispatched to assist Pipers Gap Rescue with a single vehicle accident on Soapstone Road near the intersection of Coal Creek Road. Upon firefighters arrival, they found a small Jeep SUV over the bank on its wheels. The department assisted Pipers Gap in getting the patient out of the vehicle and loaded onto a stretcher. Pipers Gap transported the patient to Twin County Regional Hospital. The Virginia State Police investigated the accident. The department remained on scene for approximately one hour.
