On Wednesday, September 19th, at 3:25pm, the Galax Fire Department was dispatched to set up a Landing Zone for Pipers Gap Rescue Squad at Oakland Elementary School. Pipers Gap responded to a male patient with a broken leg from an incident at Greg's Core Supply on Elkhorn Road. The subject was flown to Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem, NC with serious injuries.
