The fire department was dispatched on Tuesday, October 27, 2015, at 11:58am, for a two vehicle accident with entrapment on Route 58 in front of the Moose Lodge. Upon arrival, the department found a Nissan Versa which had been struck on the driver’s side by a tractor/trailer. The Nissan’s 28 year-old male driver had to be extricated from the vehicle by the fire department. The fire department performed a “door pop” with the Jaws of Life. Galax-Grayson EMS transported the subjects to Twin County Regional Hospital. Galax Police investigated the accident. Units were on scene for approximately a half hour.
