On Monday, September 28, 2015, at 6:24pm, the Galax Fire Department was dispatched for a hazmat spill from an auto accident at the intersection of Route 58 & Meadow Street. Rescue 4 responded and used absorbent to contain the spill. Fire units returned to the station by 7pm. Galax Police investigated the accident.
