On Monday, July 13, 2015, at 8:46pm, the Galax Fire Department was dispatched to the intersection of Grayson Pkwy and Beech Grove Road for a two vehicle accident with entrapment. A 2001 Ford Taurus was attempting to turn left onto EB Rt 58 from Beech Grove Road, when it was struck in the driver’s side by a 1998 Jeep Cherokee that was travelling WB Rt 58. Firefighters had to extricate a female subject from the Taurus. Baywood Rescue and Galax Grayson EMS provided on scene patient care. The driver of the Taurus was flown from Twin County Regional Hospital to Roanoke Memorial Hospital for further treatment. The drivers of both vehicles were from Galax. The Virginia State Police is investigating the accident.
