On Thursday, May 14, 2015, at 5:55pm, Galax Fire was dispatched with Laurel Rescue Squad to a single vehicle accident in the area of 2231 River Hill Road. Firefighters assisted rescue squad members with loading, and a Landing Zone was established at the Gambetta Church. Carroll Fire & Rescue also assisted at the scene. The Virginia State Police investigated the accident.
