On Saturday, April 25, 2015, at 12:26pm, Galax Fire Department was dispatched to the 2700 block of Crooked Creek Road in the Woodlawn community for a farming accident. Firefighters assisted Pipers Gap Rescue with the extrication of a male subject, who’s leg had become entangled in a tiller. Pipers Gap Rescue transported the subject to Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem, NC. Helicopters were unable to fly due to weather conditions.
