The fire department was dispatched to assist Pipers Gap Rescue with a single vehicle accident with entrapment in the 4100 block of Glendale Road on Saturday, October 20, 2012, at 11:20pm. First arriving members reported emergency traffic with one ejection and one pin-in. Rescue 4 arrived to find a Ford Mustang on its top. The vehicle had left the road, clipping a power pole and flipping. The ejected patient was treated and immediately transported to Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem, NC via Air Care. A landing zone was set up at Gladeville Elementary School by the fire department. The other patient was transported to Twin County Hospital by Pipers Gap Rescue. Carroll County Sheriff's Department assisted on scene, and the Virginia State Police investigated the accident.
